Welcome to the Evening Standard's coverage of the inaugural Virtual Madrid Open.
The event represents the first-ever tennis eSports tourmament which includes only professional tennis players amongst its participants, with Andy Murray among them.
Murray made his 'competitive' return to tennis and marked it with a victory, beating Benoit Paire in his opening match.
The three-time Grand Slam winner has not played on tour since suffering a pelvic injury at the Davis Cup towards the end of last year.
But he has now at least reached a virtual final.
How it works
There will be 32 players in total - 16 on either side of the men's and women's draw respectively.
Both tournaments have a prize pot of 150,000 (£131,000). Each winner will be encouraged to distribute their winnings into the relief funds set up for lower-ranked players, who have been left without regular income due to the coronavirus pandemic.
How to watch
The tournament is being exclusively streamed on Facebook Gaming which means users on the social media website can watch live on the official Madrid Open Virtual Pro Facebook page.
Schedule
Murray has been put in the same pool as Rafael Nadal, who takes on Canadian Denis Shapovalov on Monday, with the top two qualifiers in each group going through to the subsequent quarter-finals.
