Virginia Tech CB Caleb Farley (back) gets good news at NFL draft medical checks

Some of the top prospects in the 2021 NFL draft class met in Indianapolis this week for medical checks, and one of this year’s top cornerbacks apparently got some good news.

Virginia Tech’s Caleb Farley, who had back surgery earlier in the offseason, is still looking like a first-round pick after good reviews from team doctors and trainers, says agent Drew Rosenhaus (via ESPN’s Adam Schefter).

Farley could have made a strong case to be the first corner off the board prior to his injury, but it’s likely that at least Alabama’s Patrick Surtain II and South Carolina’s Jaycee Horn will be selected ahead of him. Whether or not Farley indeed lands in the first round will come down to each team’s medical staff signing off on his prognosis.
