Virgin Media viewers were left in tears of joy and sadness following Billy Connolly: My Absolute Pleasure, which aired on Tuesday night.
The documentary was a follow up to It’s Been A Pleasure, which marked Billy’s decision to step back from his incredible comedy career, spanning over five decades.
The comedy legend took viewers around his newly adopted home on the Florida Keys, where he gave his fans an insight into how he lives.
Billy decided to retire from his career in comedy after his ill health took its toll on his touring schedule.
He was diagnosed with cancer and Parkinson’s disease almost four years ago, which prompted him to retire a year later.

The documentary showcases clips from Billy’s various stand-up gigs throughout the years, giving viewers a sense of the success of his career and how he managed to stay relevant.
Fans were left in stitches as they took a trip down memory lane with the comedian.
One took to Twitter to say: “Watched Billy Connolly My Absolute Pleasure tonight. It was good for the soul. Laugh, I nearly died.”
Another said: “Billy Connolly’s Windswept and Interesting… funny, astute, self-deprecating, kind. Just a bit lovely and cuddle you need when you’re feeling a bit rubbish.”
While a third said: “Beautiful programme on Billy Connolly just now. He’s a wise man.”
Billy refrained from focussing on his illness throughout the programme, only to briefly mention his struggles towards the end of the documentary.
He said although the Parkinson's has “taken a lot from me”, his hobbies of playing the banjo and yodelling keep him determined to face the disease with a “Glasgow attitude”.
" Oh, you think you’ve got me beat? Try this for size!”
