Inside the K to return as Virgin Media unveils gripping spring schedule

Virgin Media has released its spring schedule including brand new Irish dramas that are sure to have the nation hooked.

Holding, which is based on Graham Norton's best selling book of the same name, will star Oscar winner Brenda Fricker and Conleth Hill (Game of Thrones).

The show was filmed in Skibbereen, County Cork and follows Sergeant PJ Collins trying to solve a serious crime after the body of local legend Tommy Burke is discovered.

Siobhan McSweeney, Charlene McKenna, Helen Behan and Pauline McLynn will also star in the series which is set in the fictional town of Duneen.

Meanwhile, crime thriller Redemption follows the story of Liverpool based Detective Colette Cunningham (Paula Malcomson) as she travels to Dublin after her estranged daughter's untimely death.

The Holiday, which premieres in March and stars an impressive cast of Irish talent including Owen McDonnell (Killing Eve), Siobhan Hewlett, Andrew Macklin, Lara McDonald and Aidan McCann (Red Rock), was shot in Dublin.

The four-part series follows a wife who discovers her husband is having an affair with one of her friends, but the mystery is that she doesn't know which friend it is. While that unfolds, a murder takes place as the group are enjoying a luxurious holiday together.

Popular programmes set to return include Inside the K, a show that made waves across the country as it followed the Gardai tackling crime in Dublin.

Factual series The Criminal Assets Bureau will give viewers behind the scenes access to the main investigators responsible for seizing the assets of some of Ireland’s most notorious criminals.

Lucy Kennedy returns in a brand new series called Lucy’s Tribes, which sees the presenter getting cosy with four fascinating factions of Irish society.

Fan favourite Gogglebox Ireland makes its return this year, along with a Gogglebox: Best of special that will relive the highlights from the last season.

Over on the Virgin Media Player, binge worthy shows such as The Bay, The Tower, WAG’s LA, RuPaul’s Drag Race, Real Housewives of Orange County, Real Housewives of Miami and Love Island Australia will become available.
