Virgin Media's Simon Delaney joins Cameo and here is how much he charges for a message

Simon Delany has joined Cameo, a popular app where users can pay for personalised messages from famous faces.

Celebrities, internet personalities and familiar faces from all around the world can be found on the app charging anything from €2 to €2,000 for a message. People often pay to have celebrities record birthday messages and messages of good luck or congratulations which they can then share with their friends and family.

The Irish actor and presenter announced his arrival onto the platform when he tweeted: "If you fancy a personalized message from me, or for someone who has a special occasion coming up, check out my Cameo profile."

Some well-known faces are using the platform to helps good causes and open their Cameo requests for a set period of time and donate all fees to charity.

Other famous Irish faces you can receive a special message from via Cameo include Ronan Keating from €410, Jedward from €102.50, John Aldridge from €82, Patrick Bergin from €82, Alan Quinlan from €61.50, Samantha Mumba from €53.30, Andrew Maxwell from €45, John “Coach” Kavanagh from €41 and Jason Byrne from €41.

There is also Eurovision winner Paul Harrington whose prices start from €34.44, Eilish O’Carroll from €32.80 and X-Factor star Mary Byrne from €20.50.

Former Miss Ireland and novelist Amanda Brunker partnered with Cameo this year to represent the Irish talent on the site.

She explained to the Irish Mirror in March: “Cameo is an American site, and it’s huge Stateside, it started to do well in the UK last year.

“It allows people to buy personalised messages like, happy birthday or for any occasion really."

She added: "Celebs are constantly asked to send fans messages and now it can be done easily, you’re paying for people’s time.

"Samantha Mumba is a sweetheart, she joined along with Jedward who are having their 15 minutes of fame again.

“They’re brilliant in the messages, they sing and if you like Jedward they throw themselves into it completely and give it socks.

"Ian Mcelhinney who plays Tommy Tiernan's father in law in Derry Girls is gas, he’s the life and soul."
