Rachel Allen and Lucy Kennedy are both being praised as "tonics" after Monday night's Living with Lucy programme aired.
The popular Virgin Media show saw the Cork chef open up publicly for the first time about the legal troubles of her son Joshua.
Joshua, 21, has had several legal battles in recent years following a number of drug charges but has since taken up MMA in a bid to turn his life around.
On Living with Lucy, Rachel spoke about the impact her son's trouble with the law has had on the family.
The celebrity cook admitted she felt "really bad" and "really responsible" for the attention her son's conviction received given her public profile.
She said: "With Josh, with the whole drugs thing, it’s brought home to me that parenthood is so hard.
“He’s still so young, I know we still have a distance to go, but anyone who is a parent knows you are there for them, you will literally put your life on the line to support, to help, to do everything you can.
"You just have to be there and try and throw all the support that you can into trying to get to a better place.”
Rachel and Lucy bonded over the "mum to mum" connection on the show, with just one of the three Allen children, Luca, making a brief appearance.
The pair also enjoyed a sea swim during the programme, with viewers praising Rachel for her honesty after the show aired.
One person said: "Thoroughly enjoyed that episode of #livingwithlucy @rachelallen1 and @KennedyLucy are two tonics! Open , honest interview, Rachel is a powerhouse."
A second wrote: "#LivingWithLucy having been to Ballymaloe house a few times, the staff and the coffee shop is wonderful, loads to see, Rachel is a tonic considering recent events, open and honest interview with Lucy, best wishes to them."
A third stated: "I have to second all the nice things Lucy Kennedy has to say about @rachelallen1. I served her and her daughter in work a number of years ago and she was just the most lovely person."
While a fourth person said: "Have to admit it's lovely seeing #RachelAllen being so real and vulnerable on #LivingWithLucy."
Another viewer added: "I wish Rachel well, she seems like a kind person who has been through her own problems. #bekind #LivingWithLucy."
And someone else chimed in: "@rachelallen is a Powerhouse of a Person. Great insight into a tremendously hard working, talented, funny, energetic woman, loving mom and wife as well as being a tremendous ambassador for Ballymaloe Cookery School and Ireland. Great final episode of this series of #LivingWithLucy."
