Virgin Media has insisted that there are no internet issues in Scotland despite users being left without broadband for hours this morning.
Thousands across the UK have reported issues with the firm’s internet services on website Down Detector, with people in the South West of England worst affected.
Virgin Media users in Glasgow and Edinburgh and surrounding areas claim to have experienced internet disruption.
Disappointed customers complained of 'total blackout' to the service which has been down several times in the past month as millions continue to work from home.
There have been 409 reports of issues in Glasgow and 281 in Edinburgh, with reports of broadband being down since 07:40am on Wednesday, according to site istheservicedown.co.uk.
It's unclear what is causing the outage, with customers taking to social media to complain about the issue.
One wrote: "Internet down. Only had it installed less a month! Is this what I should expect now?"
"Service has been down for an hour, Hotspotting saving the day with WFH," another commented.
Independent tracking website DownDetector, which monitors mentions across social media to track when web services are offline, is suggesting there have been 2,173 complaints today.
