Virgin Media down as users complain Wifi and internet not working

Virgin Media customers have complained that internet and TV services have stopped working properly.

The outage came on Monday afternoon.

Staff at the company apologised to customers on Twitter and said they were working to get the problem fixed 'ASAP'.

Writing on Twitter, one disgruntled customer said: "Having a huge outage and @virginmedia dropping broadband nationwide. Bad day to be working in a datacentre, thoughts are with all the engineers battling this right now."

While another wrote: "The entire UK is down."

One social media user wrote: "Thanks Virgin Media, your crash has corrupted the files of the game I was playing. Let's hope it can be fixed. You numpties."

In one reply, a spokesman for the media company wrote: "I'm sorry that you experienced this issue, we are aware that there was a fault, and we are working hard to get this fixed ASAP."

On Tuesday, a spokesman for Virgin Media said: “An intermittent broadband issue that started yesterday evening was fixed in the early hours of this morning. This was not caused by increased usage or a lack of capacity. We know how frustrating this was for customers and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
