Virgin Media down as customers fume over internet outage across the UK

Virgin Media's network has gone down this morning - leaving web users furious. Users took to social media to fume as they were unable to connect to their Wi-Fi and internet on Tuesday, April 4.

Downtetector reported over 1,400 reports of issues between 1am and 7am on April 4, as reported by Birmingham Live. "Anyone else having issues with Virgin Media this morning?" one Twitter user asked.

"The internet has been intermittent all night, its getting beyond a joke at this point. Spending so much a month for landlines, internet and the TV package and the internet dies every other day. But yo," (sic) fumed one. Another said: "Oh and their website is down/unstable. Well done Virgin Media ?"

" Anyone know how this is happening yet on my hub the white light is on?? makes no sense no flashing lights or anything yet can’t get on Wi-Fi," said another.

NUFC said: " i only have white light meaning systems all going but as for a frontroom light i dont have one no more until the internet is back smart light is flashing more than the router lol" (sic).

Sarah raged: "I can't get online at all. Can't even get on Virgin's website or app to check status." K said: "Man hub showing no lights will randomly show green then internet drops again and their website just spinning wheel."

A Virgin Media spokesperson said: "We’re aware of an issue that is affecting broadband services for Virgin Media customers as well as our contact centres. Our teams are currently working to identify and fix the problem as quickly as possible and we apologise to those customers affected."

On Downdetector, the outage map shows problems all over the UK - affecting landline, the internet and more.
