Virgin Media broadband issues resolved as Scots struggle to get online this morning

Thousands of Virgin Media broadband customers struggled to get online this morning due to issues with the service.

Outage tracking website Down Detector saw the number of complaints about the service skyrocket from around 7.30am on Wednesday.

The number of disgruntled customers appeared to peak just before the start of the 9am working day, with almost two and a half thousand people reporting outages.

A total of 82% of complaints were regarding cable internet, while 16% said there were issues with mobile internet services.

Service disruption appears to be widespread across the UK - with a high volume of complaints coming from Glasgow and Edinburgh.

But the tech company has moved to reassure customers after resolving the issue just before 10am this morning.

A spokesperson for Virgin Media told the Daily Record : “The issue which affected some customers’ broadband services this morning has now been fixed. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
