Virgin broadband down: Hundreds of users report being unable to get online

Hundreds of customers have complained that they are unable to get online due to issues with their Virgin Media broadband.

More than 700 people have lodged complaints with Down Detector, a website which collects issues with networks.

The majority of the reports are coming from London, Birmingham, Bristol, Nottingham, Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield, Liverpool and Glasgow.

While internet issues are always annoying, the impact on users may be more pronounced now than ever.

Not having a good broadband connection can be costly with so many people working from home.

The connectivity problems appear to have started at around 7am this morning.

They peaked shortly before 9am.

Many people have taken to social media to vent their frustrations about the technological problem.

One annoyed customer wrote: "Hellooooo????? Is anyone from your company going to put out a statement telling your customers when this outage will be fixed??

"We've had no broadband all day, can't get through to anyone, can't book an engineer to come out as your website doesn't work... Useless."

Virgin Media has been contacted for comment.
