Virgin Atlantic reports huge hike in Israel bookings after 'green list' confirmation

Travel bookings to the Israeli city of Tel Aviv have surged by 250 per cent since the nation was included on the UK Government green list of quarantine-free destinations.

Virgin Atlantic reported the huge hike in sales following the news that passengers will not need to quarantine on their return to the UK.

In response, the airline will increase its services to daily flights from June, and these will be doubled from July.

Juha Jarvinen, Chief Commercial Officer at Virgin Atlantic, said: “We know there’s pent-up demand to travel and our surge in bookings to Tel Aviv reflects this.

"We’ve seen a steady increase in interest throughout our network, particularly to Israel, as consumer confidence returns, allowing our customers to finally plan a much-needed sunny break or reconnect with family, friends and business colleagues."

Meanwhile, Virgin Atlantic has also started offering at-home Covid tests in partnership with Prenetics. Packages will include every test needed for customers’ trips, including PCR and rapid antigen ‘test to carry’.
