Virgil van Dijk has no problem over being potentially booed against Rangers next week as he returns to play in Scotland for the first time since leaving Celtic.
The Dutch centre-back has gone to become the world's most expensive defender since leaving Parkhead and featured this week as Liverpool beat Rangers 2-0 at Anfield in the Champions League. A return leg in Govan next week promises to deliver fireworks and Van Dijk is aware what his previous allegiances to the other side of Glasgow could bring.
It's not something that he is too fussed by, instead opting to stay focused on the task at hand, securing another three points in Group A. He said: "The last time I got booed was when I played England in Portugal in the Nations League semi-final and we won, so hopefully if that’s the case and we win then I will have it!
"But I don’t get affected by it, I try to play my best game and in order to do that the focus should be 100 per cent there.
"We know it’s going to be very tough over there with the fans so we have to be ready, but first we’ve got another big challenge coming up in the capital (against Arsenal).
"Yeah, pleased (with performance v Rangers). Three points, overall a very good performance and a lot of things that we wanted to do came out."
