Virgil van Dijk trolls England fans after the Liverpool defender was repeatedly booed in Holland victory

Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk has trolled England fans after the Reds defender was repeatedly booed on Thursday night.

The 27-year-old received a hostile reception from supporters of the Three Lions every time he touched the ball during the Nations League semi-final clash.

Not only did Van Dijk captain Holland to a famous 3-1 win in extra time but the Dutchman also sent a subtle and cheeky message to England supporters.

Atalanta midfielder Marten de Roon shared a proud post to Twitter of Netherlands' fans and players celebrating their triumph.

The accompanying caption read: "I guess it’s not coming home..."

And Liverpool's imperious No. 4 showed his approval for the tweet by liking De Roon's post.

Ronald Koeman's team will now take on Portugal in a Sunday night showdown.
