Virgil van Dijk sends positive message over Liverpool injury return

Virgil van Dijk is "looking forward" to seeing Liverpool fans in 2021.

The big Dutchman is undergoing a period of rehabilitation following a serious knee ligament injury suffered against Everton back in October during a rash challenge from Jordan Pickford.

This week, he has been training out in Dubai with AC Milan legend Clarence Seedorf and messages around his recovery have all been very positive so far.

And today, the world-class centre-back posted two messages to Reds fans on Twitter.

The first read: "Happy New Year to all of you, hope all your dreams and New Year’s resolutions come true in 2021.

"Let’s bring more love, peace, and happiness in the world. Treat people the way you want to be treated, see you soon!"

And the second, which was posted along with a video filmed by the ECHO of Van Dijk at Anfield, said: "Looking forward to seeing all of you reds in 2021..."

Van Dijk's latest message will no doubt bring much excitement to the Anfield faithful and those desperate to see him back on the pitch.
