Virgil van Dijk sends out Liverpool warning over 'world class' Naby Keita

Virgil van Dijk has warned the football world about the impact "world class" Naby Keita could have at Liverpool next term.

Keita has been one of the stars of the show for the Reds since the Premier League restart.

Despite some indifferent team performances and mixed results of late, the Guinean has impressed on an individual level with two assists and a goal.

Liverpool's £52m man has showed the kind of form that could see him nail down a first team position.

But it comes as no surprise to teammate Van Dijk.

After the final whistle of yesterday's 3-1 win at Newcastle, the Dutchman said: "I'm just very happy for Naby. He is a fantastic guy.

"He works so hard and he is an outstanding football player.

"We see it week in, week out. Unfortunately he has been unlucky with some injuries.

"But hopefully he can stay fully fit for the next season."

Speaking to LFCTV, Van Dijk added: "I think [Keita is] world class if I'm actually honest.

"I see all the moments when he has the ball. The smart moves, the intelligence.

"It's just incredible to see and I'm very happy for him."

The champions will now head off for a two-week break before Jurgen Klopp gathers the squad together at Melwood again to prepare to defend their crown.
