Virgil van Dijk's warning to Liverpool over Arsenal strike force ahead of Premier League clash

Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk is looking forward to coming up against Arsenal striking duo Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette when the two sides meet this afternoon (Saturday).

Arsenal travel to Anfield for a 5:30pm kick off, for a game which will see one, or both teams lose their 100% winning record so far this season. Both the Gunners and Liverpool are just the two remaining club to have won every game that they have played in in 2019/20.

Van Dijk was named as the PFA player of the year for the 2018/19 season after helping his team to a second placed finish and a Champions League winning medal.

But, he will be aiming to keep two strikers in form from scoring. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette scored 50 goals between them last season, and have already opened their accounts this season.

"They’re fantastic finishers. They’ve got pace," Van Dijk said of his opponents, as reported by the Times.

"Arsenal are a great team. They have a clear plan of playing and we have to be very, very good to win.

"I’m looking forward to every bit of it because it’s a fantastic game to play in."

Arsenal will be hoping for a better result than their last visit to Anfield, when they lost the game 5-1.
