Virgil Van Dijk's brilliant response to Jamie Carragher's question about Liverpool's defence

Virgil Van Dijk found the perfect answer to questions about Liverpool's defending this season after picking up the Reds first clean sheet of the campaign in the 3-0 away win at Burnley.

Jurgen Klopp's side looked far more composed at the back in Saturday's victory after previously looking vulnerable in their opening matches with Van Dijk putting in another superb display.

One of the pundits who has questioned the high-line employed this season has been Reds legend Jamie Carragher.

Carragher was on duty with Sky Sports for the game at Turf Moor and he was keen to ask the Dutch centre-back about their possible change in tactics this season.

He asked: "Your first clean sheet of the season, you were probably very close against Arsenal.

"It's probably been the talking point at the start of the season, Liverpool pushing up and being higher. Is that right? Or is it something to do with VAR or is just people getting a little bit carried away?"

Van Dijk responded: "It's just you saying all of these things!

"If you look at the goals we have conceded so far, we should have done better and we all know that. I don't think it's something to do with us pushing up more.

"It's just a little bit of concentration and we know we have to do better. So let's improve and today I thought we shown some great stuff."
