Virgil van Dijk's big claim about Spurs star Son and he decides between Kane and Aubameyang

Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has named Tottenham Hotspur star Son Heung-min in his dream five-a-side team but there was no place for Harry Kane.

The Netherlands international was asked to name his Premier League five-a-side team but he was not able to select anyone from his own club.

He had to select players a 1-2-1 formation and Manchester City players form the spine of the team.

Can Jose Mourinho turn Spurs around?

Van Dijk went for Ederson in goal, Aymeric Laporte in defence and Kevin De Bruyne in the midfield.

Alongside the Belgian, Van Dijk went for Son as his first non-City player.

"He’s quick, he’s strong, he goes out there to make life hell on the pitch for a defender," the Dutchman said on the official Liverpool website, "and his finishing – right foot, left foot – is just outstanding so I think I would pick him."

However, Son's Tottenham team-mate Kane, who has scored plenty of goals against Liverpool did not get the nod up front.

Instead Van Dijk went for Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but made it clear his decision was based on this season.

"Based on what he has done throughout the season. Together Lacazette and Aubameyang are a fantastic striking duo," he said.

"I could also put Aguero in but I think he’s a good striker and I think the numbers have showed that as well since he arrived."
