'Virgil van Dijk is good, but...' - Nemanja Vidic video goes viral before Manchester United vs Liverpool showdown

Nemanja Vidic needs no introduction at Old Trafford and he continues to make his immense presence felt.

As he celebrates his 40th birthday, the no-nonsense Serb - who won five Premier League titles and the Champions League in 2008 - has gone viral on YouTube ahead of the impending showdown with Liverpool.

Regarded as one of Sir Alex Ferguson's greatest signings, Vidic remains the only defender to have been crowned as the division's player of the year on two occasions.

So where do bitter rivals Liverpool fit in?

Seven years on from his Old Trafford departure, the United great has, inadvertently, kicked off the mind games as those two teams prepare to resume battle on Sunday afternoon (4.30pm).

Virgil van Dijk is widely regarded as the best centre-back in the Premier League right now.

Once he returns to tip-top form after missing a large chunk of last season through injury, the Dutchman may just pick reclaim a similar tag throughout Europe, too

However, as the YouTube sensation Teo CRi suggests, 'van Dijk is good, but Vidic was a BEAST'!

Comparing the two players in a 10-minute video, the compilation features some of Vidic's best bits and highlights from his memorable eight-year spell at Old Trafford.

During that time, of course, the Serbian struck up a water-tight partnership with Rio Ferdinand as United went all the way to three Champions League finals - in four seasons - and dominated domestically before legendary coach Sir Alex decided to call time on his managerial career in 2013.

Vidic was a HUGE part of that team in both a physical and metaphoric sense.

He continues to make his mark, too, with that particular YouTube video racing to 1,700,000 plus views as Liverpool prepare to touch down on his old stomping ground this Sunday afternoon.
