There is no stopping Fabian Schar right now. Just a few days after scoring Newcastle United's equaliser against Watford, the centre-back broke the deadlock in Switzerland's 1-1 draw against Ireland in their Euro 2020 qualifier in Dublin.
Schar has scored some stunning goals in the last year - the mazy run against Cardiff, the rocket against Burnley - but he added yet another eye-catching finish to his highlight reel on Thursday night.
The 27-year-old was afforded space to bring the ball out time and time again by Mick McCarthy's side and punished the Boys in Green on 74 minutes after kick-starting a sweeping team move inside Ireland's half.
Just four quick-fire passes opened Ireland up and Schar, who made an off the ball dart into the box, finished the move off with a cool sidefoot past goalkeeper Darren Randolph.
David McGoldrick rescued a point for the hosts at the death but that did not stop fans on Twitter paying tribute to Schar's stunning opener.
