Virgil van Dijk: Champions League win a dream come true but Liverpool squad hungry for more

Virgil van Dijk set his sights on further success with Liverpool after hailing the "dream come true" Champions League victory.

The Dutchman picked up the biggest prize in club football as he helped the Reds to a 2-0 victory over Tottenham two weeks ago in Madrid.

His focus since has been on international duty with the Netherlands, who reached the Uefa Nations League final before losing out to Portugal last weekend.

But, with the dust having settled on that tournament, Van Dijk took to social media to reflect on a memorable campaign for club and country.

He wrote: "I've had a few days to reflect now at the end of what's been an unbelievable season.

"We achieved great things at Liverpool this season as a team and I feel proud to be part of such an incredible club with this group of players. To be European champions is a dream come true!

"We are all now hungry for more success and will continue to give all we can to achieve that.

"I'm also excited about the future with the national team and we will look to build on the promising season we've just had.

"Thank you for all of your support over the last few months and I'll see you after the break ready to go again!"
