Virendra Kumar Khatik to begin Jan Ashirwad Yatra today

BHOPAL: The Union minister for social justice and empowerment, Virendra Kumar Khatik, will begin his Jan Ashirwad Yatra on Thursday (August 19) from Gwalior. He will seek blessings of the public and interact with local people on the welfare schemes and achievements of the BJP-ruled governments in the state and at the Centre.

Khatik will also reach state capital Bhopal on August 20 and participate in various programmes, including meeting intellectuals, sportspersons and public representatives. BJP state chief V D Sharma will be accompanying him.

“On August 21, the yatra will reach Vidisha and Sagar districts where a host of programmes have been organised. The yatra will reach Jabalpur on August 23 and Damoh and Tikamgarh districts on August 24,” said an official communique.

“Khatik will cover seven districts and seven Lok Sabha constituencies during his yatra. He will also cover a total distance of 589 kilometres in five days and participate in 105 programmes,” said a BJP state functionary.
