Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will open their Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025 campaign against Gujarat Giants in Vadodara on Friday, and the team received a motivating message from none other than batting legend Virat Kohli.
"I would like to wish the women's team all the very best for the upcoming WPL season. It's amazing what you did last year and I just hope that you can continue to ride that momentum and take that confidence into this tournament as well," said Kohli in a video message shared by the franchise on social media.

RCB defeated Delhi Capitals by eight wickets in the final last year to win their maiden WPL title.
"There is no shortage of talent, as we had seen last year as well," Kohli further said in his message. "I am sure that with the load of winning the title already off your back, you will go out there, express yourself and enjoy the support that you get from fans all over India. So I wish you all the very best for the upcoming season."
This WPL season will see action spread across four venues -- Vadodara, Bengaluru, Lucknow, and Mumbai.
After hosting six matches, the tournament will move to Bengaluru's M Chinnaswamy Stadium, where RCB will host Mumbai Indians, the inaugural WPL winners, on February 21.
