Zip me baby, one more time – that’s the plea from Britney Spears as she suffers a wardrobe malfunction during a performance in Las Vegas. The singer’s zip broke on the back of her costume during a lip-synching performance. What is funny is the lengths to which the male dancers go to try to fix the problem, as the show goes on. Dancer after dancer fumbles, fiddles and wrestles with the zip while Britney bops on regardless.
Spears’ reputation as a dancer has never been in dispute, but rapper Drake has been under fire this week for his awkward moves in a video for Hotline Bling. Social media has been awash with parodies and we have got a couple of the best – one from Eddie G and a mash-up of Vines.
Meanwhile, the official trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens has cranked up the excitement for the film’s release on 18 December. The movie has already broken box office records for advance ticket sales at US and UK cinemas, with some places reporting that early screenings are completely sold out. Heading for a more low-key release, I Saw the Light, a biographical film about the life of singer songwriter Hank Williams, is due in cinemas in March. It premiered in Nashville where its star Tom Hiddleston wowed the after-show party with a live performance.
We have another example of movie fiction meeting reality when pianist Jason Lyle Black films his 80-year-old grandparents playing a piano duet from the cartoon hit Up. The couple, who celebrated 60 years of marriage, play Carl and Ellie’s theme from the Pixar movie in a sweet and moving tribute.
