An American Airlines catering truck spiraled out of control Monday on the tarmac at O’Hare International Airport, nearly striking a parked plane if not for an employee who sprung into action to stop it.
The incident was captured in a viral video posted to Twitter Monday afternoon by user Kevin Klauer. In the video, the unmanned cart can be seen spinning wildly near a parked plane as employees and travelers alike watch the commotion unfold.

The video ends after an alert employee dodges the cart, then reemerges in another vehicle to ram the cart and send it toppling over. The employee’s actions were met with cheers from travelers at the gate.
No one was injured in the incident and only one flight was delayed by about 10 minutes, American Airlines said in a statement.
“Preliminary reports indicate that the accelerator became stuck and caused the catering cart to lose control,” the airline said. “We appreciate the quick action of our team member who stopped the vehicle.”
The video caught the attention of President Donald Trump, who retweeted a Fox32 tweet showing the incident with the caption “Great job, just in time!”
