Viral video: Man carries Oxford dictionary to Shashi Tharoor's event in Nagaland; netizens can't stop laughing

Senior Congress leader and MP Shashi Tharoor is known for using long-winded, difficult-to-pronounce and rarely-used English words. While many are impressed, there are those who feel overwhelmed and intimidated. Some even feel the need to look up definitions in the dictionary. Like this man from Nagaland, who recently went for a talk show called ‘The Lungleng Show’ attended by Tharoor.

The host of the show, R Lungleng, took to Twitter to share a video, which later went viral for a hilarious reason.

The video begins with a glimpse of Shashi Tharoor speaking to the host. However, the camera suddenly pans to a man sitting in the audience with an Oxford dictionary on his lap, most probably looking to decipher and decode the 'Tharoorian' vocabulary.

"Someone in Nagaland literally brought Oxford Dictionary to my show to listen to Dr. @ShashiTharoor. 😅

Bringing Dictionary along was just a joke statement until I saw this," the Twitter caption read.

The viral video has garnered several views, likes and retweets. Netizens cannot contain themselves with laughter.

One user wrote, "Desperate times… desperate actions 👌👌👌😂😂😂"

Another said, ""Now that some love for Mr @ShashiTharoor Doesn't want to miss a single thing he says #Nagaland."

The video also managed to catch the Congress MP's attention. He responded, “I’m always happy to make a good-natured joke in the right spirit, but this is getting too much! Come on, R Lungleng, post the video of our conversation & let us challenge the audience to find three words I used that required them to look up a dictionary!”

From 'floccinaucinihilipilification', 'allodoxaphobia' to 'troglodyte' and 'quockerwodger’, Tharoor has stunned people with several new and exotic words in the past.
