Viral TikTok shows the 'correct way' to pack a suitcase and people are in awe

When it comes to packing for our holidays, it can be very exciting especially when you're picturing what outfit you'll wear at a specific time.

And whilst we can't blame you for wanting to chuck everything in, zip up the bag and run to the airport, you may want to think about how you've packed.

It comes as one viral TikTok has shown people how they should be packing and it's fair to say people are re-doing their suitcase.

Asking his dad how to pack a bag for the flight, the father showed him - and TikTok - exactly the way it should be done.

In the video he said the first thing people should do if check your destination's weather as you don't want to pack for sun if all it's going to do is rain.

And at the same time you don't want to pack long sleeve shirts and trousers if its going to be boiling all day.

Next up is the all important cash reminding people to bring change with them rather than just notes.

Giving tips about how to pack, the TikTok dad says the best thing to do in a bid to save space is pack underwear - such as socks and pants - in your shoes - as socks can often become bulky and take up room you can use for other things.

Belts also go in shoes if you need to take any with you.

Crucially if you're heading to a special event such as a wedding, you should always put your outfit in a garment bag.

When packing the all important shoes, they go right at the bottom of the bag "toe to heel" as they "set up the base" for the rest of your bag.

Next you pack jeans and the best method to save space is a "double fold and roll method". The same applied to sweatpants, leggings and any other similar clothing.

Folded neatly, t-shirts go on top whilst jackets and jumps go in last- this is handy because if you need to grab them, they're easily accessible for when you land.

And just like that you're all packed and ready to go.

In response to the video by JohnnyDrinks, which has gained almost a million likes and 7.4 million views, many were loving the simple tricks to help them pack for their next adventure whilst others were impressed by the garment bag that also acts as a duffel bag.

One said: "This man is all our dads."

Another added: "Are we not going to talk about the garment bag that doubles as a duffel bag? What an amazing concept."

"And I thought I knew how to pack" a third commented.
