Viral Leeds nail artist back with design for 'favourite' Headingley bakery

The artist responsible for viral nails dedicated to Greggs is celebrating a Leeds business with her new nail art.

Freya-Poppy Bowden, 23, has shared new nail art dedicated to Headingley bakery Get Baked, complete with a little cake charm.

The Burley based nail artist posted the hand-painted nails on Instagram as a tribute to her favourite bakery.

They celebrate Get Baked, on North Lane, with its logo, slogan 'done and done' and a little cake charm.

Freya-Poppy told Leeds Live: "You need to try Get Baked. It's not even a question - it is the best cake you will ever have. They do a 24-layer chocolate cake that everyone should order tonight. You won't be disappointed.

"I've been going in there quite a lot. I do have a sweet tooth. We got pally with the owner who said he wasn't doing very well and asked us to consider them above bigger brands.

"I thought, the Greggs ones went viral: I can help a small business out, from a small business. Last time I did a sausage roll charm, this time I did a little cake charm.

Get Baked reposted the nails on their own Instagram account, calling Freya-Poppy "our insanely talented new favourite customer".

Freya-Poppy said she's been approached by a few places wanting her to do nails inspired by their businesses, including a DJ and football fans.

Freya-Poppy originally went viral for her nails dedicated to Greggs sausage rolls (Sugar Rush Studios)

She hand paints all of her nail art and crafts the little charms herself.

"Everyone was wanting me to do somewhere like Starbucks, but I thought Greggs didn't really need the exposure from the nails last time, so I wanted to do somewhere that did," she added.

"I did it to support a small business. With me being a small business, I wanted to use the power I have to celebrate a small business."

Freya-Poppy posted her nails dedicated to Greggs' sausage rolls in August after one helped her recover her taste after having coronavirus.

After the nails were reposted on Loveofhuns, she gained more than 46,000 likes.

Meanwhile, she runs Burley shop Sugar Rush Studios.

Freya-Poppy advised fans to keep their eyes peeled for more quirky nail designs on Sugar Rush's Instagram.
