Viral 'Leave it out' Dublin icon reveals what she's giving up for Lent

The viral 'Leave it out' Dublin icon has revealed what she's giving up for Lent.

Ann Grimes went viral back in 2012 for shouting "ah here, leave it bleedin' out" voice over a video of two men brawling in the city centre.

The Sheriff Street native's commentary on the fight led to thousands on memes and parodies on YouTube and other social media sites.

Ann even went on to speak to various Dublin radio stations, appear on RTE and performing in a panto with Jedward.

In 2017, she met then Taoiseach Enda Kenny at a summit to root out crime.

And Dublin Live bumped into the legend leaving mass on Ash Wednesday and asked her what she planned to give up for Lent.

She revealed that she will be giving up drinking for Lent and also joked that she will be "leaving it out".

She added: "I'll be going to mass for Lent, every day."

Ann wasn't alone when revealing she would be giving up alcohol for the 40 days of Lent.

Other things Dubs said they planned to give up included chocolate, biscuits, jellies and cigarettes - while some said that they didn't plan to give up anything.

One woman added that she will spend the duration of Lent praying for Ukraine.

She said: "I am giving up some personal stuff however I am going to be praying everyday for Ukraine, that something turns Mr Putin's heart and gets rid of the evil that's in his brain. That's all I can say."
