VIP party marks opening of new Novotel hotel and Adagio aparthotel in Leicester

More than 250 guests from across Europe celebrated the opening of a new Novotel hotel and Adagio aparthotel in Leicester.

The two hotels are part of a £50 million mixed-use development recently completed on the city’s inner ring road.

Leicester-based property developers Charles Street Buildings Group, which is behind the scheme, welcomed guests to the hotels’ official launch party with an evening of drinks, canapés and a 3ft high cake representing the buildings.

Guests were offered the chance to sample a range of food from NineB restaurant, which is also part of the complex, and get a look around the suites and facilities.

James Conaghan, general manager of the hotels, said they were thrilled to mark the opening with such special guests.

He said: It was great to be able to thank everyone involved in the whole development, which we’re all incredibly proud to be a part of.

“It’s an incredibly exciting time for Leicester and we look forward to welcoming new and existing guests in the coming months.”

The 154 room, 10-storey Novotel is expected to attract corporate clients through the week, and tourists at the weekend.

The six-storey Adagio aparthotel will target people who need a longer-term stay in the city, with rooms featuring cooking facilities and extra storage.

Both brands are part of the Accor group, although the complex will remain in the ownership of Leicester property developer Charles Street Buildings.
