This is the shocking moment a violent yob smashes a man over the head with a pole before laying into him as he lies defenceless on the ground.
The sickening footage was captured in the Hunterhill area of Paisley before being uploaded to social media.
And now police in the town are hunting the brute responsible for the armed attack.
The 50-second mobile phone footage, shows two men sitting on a grass verge before one begins striking the other with a crutch or pole.
The lout smashes the victim over the back several times then knocks him to ground with a heavy blow to the back of the head.
He continues to strike the other fallen man on the back as the clip ends.
The attacker lands at least nine thumping strikes with the weapon during the onslaught.
He was dressed in light coloured clothing and baseball cap.
A woman can be seen crossing the screen at one point during the attack and a dog also walks into view.
Police say they are investigating the footage to establish when it was taken.
Inspector Tracy Harkins, from Paisley’s community policing team, appealed for the alleged victim to come forward.
She said: “We are aware of a video circulating on social media which appears to show a man assaulting another man with a weapon of some description in the Hunterhill area of Paisley.
“We are carrying out enquiries to establish the exact circumstances of this incident.
“If you were the victim of an assault then I would urge you to come forward and speak to police.
“I’d also urge anyone with any information in relation to it to contact officers in Paisley.”
