Violent thug threatens man with weapon during terrifying armed robbery on Scots street

A man was threatened with a weapon by a tooled-up thug who threw him to the ground during a terrifying robbery.

The 39-year-old was attacked at the back of shops on Buchan Road in Fraserburgh at around 7pm on Sunday night.

Officers have been carrying out door-to-door enquiries in the area in a bid to trace the alleged attacker.

He is described as being white, around 5ft 10 to 6ft tall, of a slim to medium build and has light brown hair.

He was wearing jeans and a light coloured t-shirt at the time of the robbery.

Detective Constable Ross McDonald, Ellon CID, said: "During the assault the injured man sustained minor injuries.

“Although this attack happened to the rear of the shops, the area is overlooked by a number of homes.

“Officers have been making local enquiries and checking CCTV, however, are still keen to hear from anyone who saw the attack or who has information that will help the investigation but who has not yet come forward to get in touch.

"Please call Police Scotland via 101 and quote reference number 3393 of Saturday, 24 July, 2021.

“Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111."
