Violent Edinburgh house ‘rammy’ leaves young man seriously injured as police launch probe

A police investigation has been launched after a ‘targeted’ violent disturbance at a property in Edinburgh.

Officers were called to an address on Craigentinny Road at around 9.10pm on Thursday, November 26.

A 22-year-old man was found to have suffered serious injuries after a rammy inside the property.

He was rushed to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment where medics have described his condition as ‘stable’.

Officers are appealing for witnesses who may have seen any ‘suspicious’ activity in the surrounding area around the time of the incident.

They are also keen to speak with anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage but have stressed that there is no wider risk to the general public at this time.

Detective Sergeant Keith Taylor of the Edinburgh Violence Reduction Unit said: "We are working to establish the full circumstances of this violent attack.

"Our enquiries so far suggest this was a targeted incident and there was no risk to the wider public.

"We would urge anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity around Craigentinny Road during Thursday evening to get in touch as soon as possible.

"We would be particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have private CCTV or dashcam footage.

"Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting incident 3352 of 26 November, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
