Violence in Niger displaces Malian refugees

The threat of violence has forced hundreds of Malian refugees in Niger to flee the border area and relocate far into the northern desert.

Since 2012, the war in Mali’s north has driven 60,000 Malians, most of them Tuareg and Arabs, into Niger.

But even there they are not safe, as refugee camps have come under attack.
