Vinted makes huge change to the site which has caught customers by surprise

Vinted has made a change to the way clothes can be sold on the site.

The popular second hand selling site has had a rehaul, and now users are complaining the change is causing chaos for buyers and sellers alike.

Now instead of clothes sizes shown, such as an 8, 10 or 12 for women - the sizes will instead show ‘small’, ‘medium’, or ‘large’.

This sizing overhaul has caused confusion, with many taking to online forums such as Netmums to vent their frustrations.

One wrote: “It was chaos before, and now it is even worse,” while another added in response: “Yes, it was terrible before but now it’s going to be absolutely impossible to find the right size, it’s just chaos.

“Now if I want a size 14, I can only choose medium which will show me all size 12 and 14s.

“And now my for sale items have completely the wrong size on them too.”

Others say that even posting in their clothing sizes have taken them to items that are two sizes too small for them.

They said: “I put in medium as a 14 and I'm obviously getting shown things that people have listed as M.

“But then a whole host of size 10s are showing up from the old system.”

Another added: “Surely a small can’t cover a size 6, 8 and 10? There’s a massive difference there. Who chooses what is a small and a medium? It is batty.”

Shoppers will now need to check actual measurements and the tagged photos more carefully before purchasing, to make sure that the item will fit them properly.

Vinted say they made the change to make it “more accurate” and advise people list the tag size and the garment’s actual measurements in the description to help avoid misunderstandings between users.

A Vinted spokeswoman said: “We’ve updated our size guidelines for women’s and kid’s clothing to make sizing more accurate across international brands.

“UK members will have received a message in their Vinted inbox with more details and you can also find full information on our Help Centre.”
