Vintage 'Magnum P.I.' Ferrari seized by police after driver pulled over in Bolton

A vintage Ferrari was spotted being driven around Bolton over the weekend - but among those taking an interest in the 1980s supercar were a group of traffic police officers.

The officers noticed the bright red car, believed to be a Ferrari F40, out on Sunday evening joking that the scene 'could have been a a cool 80s montage'.

Only, the driver - 'Magnum', to the officers - was using trade plates, according to Greater Manchester Traffic Police.

Police quickly seized the car as the plates did not cover use on the road, with the driver having no other insurance, said the officers.

The driver was then reported for the traffic offence.

The car is believed to be a Ferrari F40 (GMP Traffic)

Ferrari F40s can fetch more than £1 million.

In a tweet, the GMP Traffic officers said: "Officers noticed this Ferrari out around Bolton tonight, it could have been a cool 80s montage but Magnum was out driving on trade plates that didn't cover his use tonight and he had no other insurance cover in place.

"Seized under 165 RTA and driver reported."
