Celtic target Vinicius Souza has put fans on alert with a surprise social media move. The Brazilian midfielder, contracted to Belgian side Lommel and part-owned by the City Football Group, is among a number of potential targets for the Premiership champions.
Ange Postecoglou appears keen to add options in the middle of the park and Souza is attracting significant attention. Reports on Wednesday claimed Fenerbahce have made an offer for the 23-year-old, who has also been linked with Bologna and Ajax. But Celtic would hope their working relationship with the City Group, the organisation behind Manchester City, could work in their favour in any potential deal. And it appears there's something afoot with the player, judging by his latest social media move.
Souza has updated his Instagram profile to read "@mancity athlete". Furthermore, the latest post on his story appears to show him enjoying the sun in Manchester city centre on Wednesday. Lommel are part of the City Group but last season Souza was loaned upwards to KV Mechelen in the Jupiler Pro League, Belgium's top-flight.
It's clear the City Group have a plan for the South American rising star and Celtic fans are looking on with interest as to what this latest update might mean, with the hope it could involve a move to Parkhead to add to what's already been an exciting summer.
The club have previously secured loan deals for the likes of Patrick Roberts and Jason Denayer while they were contracted to Man City and have been been linked with a number of others down the years.
Meanwhile, Celtic are expected to seal a deal for Lanus left-back Alexandro Bernabei in the coming days to add further depth in the left-back area. Postecoglou bolstered his goalkeeping options with the addition of Ben Siegrist earlier in the week and it's expected a permanent deal for Jota will be finalised in the coming days.
He's set to follow Cameron Carter-Vickers after he agreed a move from Tottenham having been a standout on-loan last season.
