A Manchester City Legends side will take on a Premier League All-Stars team next Wednesday in Vincent Kompany’s testimonial match.
Kompany bowed out of English football this summer, ending a trophy-laden 11-year stay in Manchester to return to his native Belgium to become Anderlecht player-manager.
He returns to the city next week for a star-studded testimonial to line up alongside many of his Premier League title-winning teammates including Mario Balotelli, Joe Hart, Richard Dunne and Benjani.
They will line up against a Premier League All-Star team dominated by United legends including Gary Neville, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt and Ryan Giggs, with Thierry Henry and Robin van Persie leading the line.
The testimonial will be in aid of Manchester-based charity Tackle4McR, set up to tackle homeliness and rough sleeping in the city.
