Vincent Kompany will celebrate 11 years with Manchester City this evening as club legends return to face a Premier League All-Star XI in his testimonial.
The likes of Mario Baloletti, Nigel De Jong and Edin Dzeko will face most of Manchester United's 'Class of 92' plus Thierry Henry, Robin van Persie and others in a game which will not disappoint.
The four-time Premier League champion won't be on the pitch due to injury but will not dampen the mood in a game in which all proceeds go to Kompany's Tackle4MCR charity which will then be used to support rough sleepers in Greater Manchester.
Kompany said: "Unfortunately I can't start or even play. I have a slight hamstring injury and can't risk it. It's typical me."
The defender has already raised more than £300,000 for Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham's A Bed Every Night scheme, which so far has supported 2,003 people with 688 moving on to long-term accommodation.
