Vincent Kompany speaks to Anderlecht fans after flares thrown at ex-Liverpool man Simon Mignolet

Anderlecht player-manager Vincent Kompany fumed at the club's supporters after a flare was thrown at former Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet during this weekend's match against Club Brugge.

In the last moments of the game, which Brugge were winning 2-1, the home supporters became frustrated with the amount of time that Mignolet was taking to take a goal kick.

An object was thrown into the six-yard box and Mignolet was clearly distressed when the flare exploded mere yards away from him, which infuriated Kompany.

The former Manchester City defender went over to speak to the supporters in an animated manner, before putting his arm around Mignolet.

Things haven't quite gone well for Kompany since his return to Anderlecht but the experienced defender showed his class in this situation, following on from his actions in September.

His City send off last year at the Etihad Stadium, with all the proceeds from his testimonial going to help end homelessness in the streets of Manchester.
