Manchester City legend Vincent Kompany has namechecked Rangers as a club to look to as he looks to rebuild Anderlecht.
The Belgian giants finished sixth in the Pro League last season, leaving them without any European football at all for the first time in 50 years.
Kompany took over as player manager of Anderlecht in the summer but he hasn't played since a 1-0 defeat against Genk in August.
They currently sit 10th in the league but have had an upturn in form with three of their five wins this season coming in the last five games.
And he insists that big clubs need to realise that they can suffer a fall but believes they can all get back to the top.
He pointed to Rangers' problems as evidence that no club is too big and added in the recent troubled history of Manchester United and AC Milan.
Rangers are enjoying their best season since returning to the top flight under Steven Gerrard and when asked about his project at Anderlecht, Kompany told Sky Sports: "That’s the mission, we spoke off air about the comparison with big clubs like Manchester United, Glasgow Rangers, AC Milan - ships that think they are too big to fail.
"The importance is having a vision and a plan and staying with it all the way. That’s the time we’re at, we’ve decided and committed on a project. We’ll go all the way without compromising and in time big clubs get back to their level but you have to choose a course, otherwise you end up in limbo."
