Feb. 18--It's always interesting to hear celebs discuss how other celebs treated them before they were famous.
Bruce Willis apparently had nice things to say about his interactions with Bill Murray when he was a lowly page at NBC and Murray was a cast member at "Saturday Night Live." Katy Perry told me some celebs she met while trying to break into the industry weren't very friendly with her, but Gwen Stefani was an exception. And then there's George Lopez, who is so bitter about the time Erik Estrada blew him off when he was a teen that he has been ripping the "Chips" actor publicly for years.
In the March issue of Playboy, Vince Vaughn shared his own story from his days as an unknown actor trying to make a name for himself. The Lake Forest High School alum appeared on an episode of Fox's "21 Jump Street" and had the opportunity to work with the show's star, Johnny Depp.
"We were walking down some stairs and I was super nervous because I hadn't done much acting," Vaughn told Playboy. "Johnny could have ignored me completely, but he stopped and said, 'Hey, if you're over here, the camera will see you better.' I thought, Gosh, that's really gracious of this guy. The director comes over and asks if I can move, but Johnny goes, 'No, I think Vince should be right here.'
"That always reminded me to be like that whenever I could. It meant a lot to walk into a situation and have someone in a position of power be warm and including and make you feel a part of something. I always respected him for that."
The moral of the story? I think it's pretty obvious in this case.
