Vin Diesel shares cryptic post about 'war' between Universal and Producers Guild of America

Vin Diesel has shared an Instagram post hinting at a “war” between Universal Pictures and the Producers Guild of America.

The actor shared what appears to be a parody poster for his upcoming film Fast & Furious 9, with himself and his co-star Jordana Brewster superimposed onto a Halloween-themed background.

In the caption alongside the image, he wrote: “Happy creative Sunday everyone... sorry I haven’t posted much lately, I have been trying to mitigate a war between Universal studios and the p.g.a. Prejudice guild of America.”

It is unclear what conflict Diesel is referring to, or whether it is about his producing credit on the new film.

Universal Pictures announced in March that the movie’s release date is being pushed back by a year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

It was due to come out on 22 May 2020, but is now scheduled for release on 2 April 2021.

Diesel has been a part of the franchise since the beginning, having starred in many of the films since 2001's The Fast and the Furious.

He has also served as a producer on many of the Fast and Furious movies, including the new one.
