Vin Diesel says 'excitement is real' as he teases 'emotional' Fast and Furious 10

Vin Diesel has admitted that the "excitement is real" in the build-up for Fast and Furious 10.

The actor, 54, plays Dominic Toretto in the car-based franchise and shared his excitement for the latest edition on Thursday.

The star took to Instagram to share a snap of his son's newest haircut with his 73.2 million followers.

The sharp cut had FX shaved into the side, hinting at the title for the newest instalment of the fast-paced action-packed drama.

Alongside the upload, he wrote: "That excitement is real… the emotions strong. Haha. Hope, somehow perseveres in this multi generational saga. 10… the final chapter.

"A divine number, 10 means a return to unity, the fusion between being and non-being. The number 10 denotes the completion of a cycle.

"So proud of Universal, the incredible team of talent we are blessed to have on this journey.

"Grateful for it all and most importantly for all of you."

Universal had already announced that the tenth part of the action franchise - which they said will be the penultimate movie in the saga - will be arriving on the big screen on April 7, 2023.

Vin previously told Metro that the movie will be "pretty spectacular".

He said: "I know that one of the things Justin wants to do is to film on all seven continents, which I think is pretty spectacular, as a homage to the world that’s adopted this saga as their own.

"I think you’re going to be pretty shocked when you see Fast 10.

"It might not necessarily be because of a certain place that we go, but there’s something special coming that I’m so excited about. I can’t tell you, but I wish I could."

Ahead of F9's release earlier in the year, Vin paid tribute to his late co-star Paul Walker with a sweet social media snap.

The pair appeared on screen together in early films from the Fast & Furious franchise before Paul tragically died in a car crash in 2013.

Alongside a throwback pic of the pair, Vin penned: "Weeks away from the F9 release... in preproduction for the finale that starts only months from now... @meadowwalker sends me this image and tells me how happy the photo makes her feel.

"Naturally, one gets filled with emotion, purpose and ultimately gratitude. Eternal brotherhood is a blessing beyond words. Hope to make you proud... All love, Always."
