Villarreal vs Real Madrid
LaLiga 2019-20
Venue: El Madrigal
Kick-off time: 8pm BST, today
Real Madrid are seeking a return to winning ways as they head to Villarreal tonight.
Zinedine Zidane's Real side kicked off the new LaLiga season with a 3-1 win at Celta Vigo, but Los Blancos followed that up with a disappointing 1-1 home draw against Valladolid - a result which highlighted the difficulties facing Real this term despite some serious summer spending.
Real are back on the road this evening as they take on Villarreal, and Zidane will be looking to wrap things up with a win before the international break.
Real Madrid team news
Eden Hazard is on the comeback trail after a thigh injury as he returned to training on the pitch on Friday, though he was working on his own away from the rest of the squad and will not be available tonight.
Elsewhere, Marco Asensio, Brahim Diaz, Isco and Rodrygo are all out as well, but Luka Modric is available to return from suspension.
Real predicted lineup: Courtois; Carvajal, Ramos, Varane, Marcelo; Casemiro, Kroos, Isco; Bale, Benzema, Vinicius Junior
Prediction: Villarreal 1-3 Real Madrid
Villarreal finished 14th last term, and, despite scoring five goals in their opening two games, have just one point.
A 4-4 home draw against Granada coupled with a 2-1 defeat at Levante suggest Real could score a few tonight.
