Villanova player hilariously realized he was too excited about being a 6 seed

The Villanova Wildcats are off to the NCAA tournament to defend their national title, but as a No. 6 seed, it won’t be an easy road.

Freshman forward Cole Swider, though, was super pumped for his first NCAA tournament experience. Like, he was way more excited than the rest of his teammates.

Villanova was featured in the CBS selection show on Sunday, and when the Wildcats were shown on the broadcast as the No. 6 seed in the South, the Wildcats players casually applauded while remaining seated. Swider didn’t get that memo.

He stood up and was ready to go nuts before noticing that he was the only one standing.

I love that Swider sat down quickly as if nobody was going to notice. Very smooth, Cole.

And sure, I get that Villanova just won the title, and by comparison, a No. 6 seed isn’t all that much to get excited about. But it’s not easy to get into the NCAA tournament — it’s OK to be happy.

Cole shouldn’t have to hide his excitement. It’s March.
