Efforts to thank community stalwarts and NHS workers in Strathblane were on the right path last week.
Children were spotted chalking thank you messages and love hearts at the pavements outside shops and businesses and the homes of local residents who work in the NHS.
The chalk squad also put a smile on the face of the local postman with one of their messages.
Local shop owner Vishnu Karra posted a special thank you for the message left outside his store.
He said: “I am extremely emotional and have no words to express my gratitude. We can continue to work as long as we all act responsibly towards each other and remain conscious about social distancing and care for each other. Much love folks. Happy to serve you all.”
And Strathblane Pharmacy said: “These are unprecedented times, but acts of kindness like this really helps make us feel appreciated in the community.
“Thank you from everyone at the pharmacy.”
The team at the local Co-op store said: “We didn’t get a chance to thank or even see who did this but from everyone at the Coop thank you so much.”
And Coffeeatthewilsons added: “How nice was this - a couple of kids showing their appreciation for us being open. It certainly means a lot - so thank you whoever you were.”
