Villagers being urged to draw up wishlist for Fallin regeneration

Locals in Fallin are being warned time is running out to fill in a survey aimed at creating a wishlist for the village.

A group of local people have come together to look at improving Fallin and the quality of life of local people - but are first asking residents what they want and need.

The effort is with a view to developing future projects and activities - and making a strong case for securing funding.

Locals are being asked to identify their priorities from a range of topics including homes, transport, things to do, support for older people, history and heritage, employment, young people, facilities, education, streets and parking, and safety.

Community regeneration group member Michelle Robertson said while often there was a lot of “moaning” but nothing then being done, this was a major opportunity for residents to hopefully make a difference.

“We want all ages and parts of the village to be involved including local businesses, public sector and third sector partners and anyone who has an interest in making Fallin better.

“We are running a survey for people to show us what they think. This is both online and in paper form.

“We really need people to understand that this survey is the very centre and foundation of what we are trying to achieve. Without it, nothing can happen.

“It has the potential to secure hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of improvements to this village. While it might not, the few minutes it takes to fill it out is well worth a chance.

“Plenty of opinions are being shared about what we need and what’s wrong with the place, and I’m sure everyone would be quite happy to use any of the new and improved facilities if we can actually get this project off the ground, so we are encouraging people to fill it in - and to get their kids, neighbours and anyone who will listen to do the same.

“As well as an online link for the survey and a QR code for scanning we have distributed paper copies to every house in the village. The cut off for filling it in is June 18.”
