A village in South Gloucestershire continues to have one of the country's worst covid rates, according to the latest government data.
A total of five areas in the region recorded rates above 50 per 100,000 in the seven days to April 28, which is more than half what it was a week ago.
Winterbourne, in South Gloucestershire, is continuing to record the region's highest covid rate (78.7) after five coronavirus cases were confirmed in that week.
However, the village's infection rate has nearly halved in the space of a week.
Winterbourne's infection rate is now three times times the England average (23.2) and is amongst the country's worst.
While individual neighbourhoods may be recording higher rates, Hyndburn in Lancashire (120.9) and Selby in North Yorkshire (101.5) are the local authorities with the country's highest covid rates.
Case rates can be skewed by an outbreak in a particular place, such as a school, workplace or care home.
